BSc. University of Glasgow
A company transfer brought me to Calgary from Norway. My husband and I had been talking about going abroad for some time and seized the opportunity.

Calgary is a fantastic city to live in. There are so many things to do, people are very friendly and accommodating, the weather is nice, it is safe, and it is affordable. We enjoy outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, playing golf, biking etc. For such activities, Calgary and the surroundings are just perfect.

Before I started my MBA I questioned whether I would have the motivation to complete such a program; I was very pleased to experience how much I enjoyed the learning, the environment, and the people in the program.”

My background is in engineering, where I worked as the interface between technology and sales/marketing. My goal in undertaking an MBA was to expand my background and build confidence navigating positions broader than engineering. The experience has paid off.

The MBA has given me tools and terminology to build arguments for business decisions and guidance in executing those decisions. When I make business decisions I am more critical in the way I analyze the issues and I am definitely taking more aspects into consideration.

I would recommend studying in Canada. I think it is relatively easy for a European to adapt to the Canadian way of living and teaching. The quality of the Haskayne MBA program is excellent and the emphasis on a tight relationship with the business community is a differentiator.
