I have spent nearly 15 years with Deutsche Bank and for the past 10 years I have gathered management experience in Taiwan, China, and Korea. I converted Deutsche's representative office in Shanghai into a branch as General Manager. I have seen first-hand much of the progress in China, and discussed these changes with government representatives and the community in my role as Chairman of the European Banking Group in Shanghai. I also spent some time as Managing Director for our branch in Seoul, Korea.
With my international background and years in managerial positions, I was seeking a MBA program that provided a strong international component, students with interesting work experience and strong academic talent. I wanted a place to nurture intellectual curiosity, with a friendly, relaxed environment, given my responsibilities as a husband and father of an eight-year-old son.
Canada was the obvious choice for the quality and diversity of programs, and there is no other business school in North America that offers such cultural and geographical diversity as the Sauder School of Business. Students from nearly 30 countries with over 20 languages spoken are testimony to this international profile. Today's business focus on China helps Sauder given that the school's link to China has been established for many years. The award winning integrated Core combines theory, case studies, team work and career planning into one accelerated phase of the program. The successful focus on research and the ability to choose from a large pool of interesting electives is also stimulating.
While Vancouver is viewed as one of the most beautiful places on earth, this is only one of the many reasons to choose Sauder. A team of experienced and senior professionals makes sure that study plans, career progress, and business community networking is taken care of at a very high level. Opportunities for internships and an optional exchange program with leading universities outside of Canada make this 15-month experience very worthwhile.
